The founders of Covington Healthcare Associates are Drs. Tim R. Covington and Dane A. Higgins. The predecessor organization of Covington Healthcare Associates was the Managed Care Institute, which Dr. Covington founded in 1993 and directed from 1993 until 2006.

Covington Healthcare Associates, LLC was incorporated and began operation in 2006. The senior leadership of Covington Healthcare Associates consists of Dr. Covington and Dr. Higgins.
